What does the Wastewater Treatment Plant do for the community?

The Mission of the Key Largo Wastewater Treatment District is to preserve and protect the delicate ecosystem of the Florida Keys while providing exceptional customer service.

Tim Maloney is currently a Board Member for Key Largo Wastewater Treatment District. He was born and raised in Key Largo and attended Island Christian School for many years then graduated from Coral Shores High School.  After graduation, He left the Keys and started his career with Publix Supermarkets, which placed him in many counties across Florida. Tim returned to Key Largo in 2010 as a District Manager with Publix Super Markets and after 33 years of a great career, he retired in 2017. He has served on various boards in the past such as United Way of St. Lucie County, Okeechobee County, Palm Beach County, and Monroe County. He was on the Board of Directors for Mustard Seed Ministries in St. Lucie County which supported many soup kitchens and a plethora of needs in the community.  Since 2021 Tim has actively served on the board of Key Largo Wastewater Treatment District to give back to the community he grew up in, support the needs of our county, and represent our residents along with supporting the associates of Key Largo Wastewater Treatment District.
